In the autumn of 2020,the 6 friends Henrik, Jens, Niclas, Mortada, Morten and Peter got the idea that they would start a wine barand eatery. They were tired of the Corona situation and bored bravely during the isolation - something they had to indulge in - and with a shared passion for wine and food, it seemed most obvious to throw themselves into the shared dream of a wine bar and eatery. Days, weeks and months went by with planning - and the dream became a reality in April when they bought the bankrupt restaurant El Perron in the basement on Vendersgade 10.
After 20 years without real renovation, El Perron needed a loving hand and we have therefore embarked on a thorough renovation of the place - which opened in september 2021.
With Bar Somm ’we want to create a place away from home where you can enjoy wine in a cozy and relaxing setting. Our location is close to the city's vibrant center, but offers a quiet setting for cosiness and immersion in wine
Bar Somm' are build on the common values of humor, cosiness (in danish: Hygge), The joy of learning and most importantly relaxation.The founding team behind Bar Somm' want's to offer a wine bar where you can have a refreshing glass in the sun, a cozy chat over a heavier glass or seek opportunities to get to know new wines.
The wine bar Bar Somm’ will focus on classical quality wines. We primarily get the wines from France, Italy and Germany, but we are also here to explore the wine's potential and will therefore also introduce broader experiences, both in the choice of country of origin, grapes and production method.
